Hi, I’m Kirsten—the maker, painter, and creative mind behind Farmhouse Adjacent!

I’ve always loved creating things with my hands. Give me some paint, a little wood, and an idea, and I’m a happy girl. Somewhere along the way, my love for creating turned into a small business, and I’m so excited to share the things I make with you.

I’ve always had a soft spot for cozy farmhouse style, but I’ve never been very good at staying completely inside the lines. I like a little whimsy, a little personality, and a little something unexpected. That’s where Farmhouse Adjacent comes in—farmhouse-inspired, but with our own creative twist.

A little about me: I’m married, a mom of two boys, and we call Oregon home. Life around here is good… and loud! About 10 years ago, I started stenciling signs as a creative side hustle. I mostly made porch signs, along with a few seasonal and holiday pieces. What started as a fun little project slowly grew into something much bigger.

During quarantine, my husband showed me a commercial for a home laser, and I immediately started thinking about all the possibilities. I knew it could open the door to creating so many more things. Six years later, I’m still having way too much fun with it! Along the way, I’ve developed my own style for laser-cut and hand-painted pieces, combining cozy designs with playful details and lots of personality.

But Farmhouse Adjacent isn’t just about the things I make.

I believe creativity should be fun, affordable, and accessible to everyone. Sometimes you need a few hours away from the everyday chaos to paint something, make something, laugh a little, and simply enjoy creating. That’s why I’ve expanded into DIY kits and painting tutorials, too. My hope is that you have just as much fun making them as I do!
